Azevedo Sette Advogados announces, with great satisfaction, the appointment of three new partners in the Belo Horizonte office: Gabriela Salazar, a member of the Mining practice, Natália Meirelles, a member of the Corporate M&A and Capital Markets practices, and João Paulo Santarosa de Araújo Ayres, a member of the Tax practice. The promotions are aligned with our commitment to develop and value talents from within Azevedo Sette Advogado’s team. 

Gabriela Salazar joined the firm in 2011 as an intern in the Mining Law team. She has more than ten years of experience in matters related to mining and natural resources, regulatory and environmental law, contracts and litigation providing legal counseling regarding royalties, negotiation and granting of mining rights, mining easement, tenure and expropriation procedures, due diligences, representation of client’s interests in administrative procedures before the National Mining Agency in all phases, administrative litigation and support on judicial litigation. She is repeatedly listed by international directories such as The Legal 500 as a reference in Mining Law and Natural resources and Regulation.

She holds a Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws degree from the Law School of Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. She also holds a Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) in International Mineral Law and Policy (distinction) from University of Dundee / Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (UK). Besides, she concluded the Executive Training in Extractive Industries and Sustainable Development from Columbia University (New York, USA).   

Natália Meirelles has more than ten years of experience in Corporate Law. She has been with Azevedo Sette since 2021 as a senior associate. She provides legal advice to national and international companies in the structuring of M&As, legal audits, acquisitions of equity interests, negotiation of complex commercial contracts, corporate and asset reorganizations, as well succession planning. 

She holds a Bachelor of Laws from the Law School of Faculdade Milton Campos and Accounting from IBMEC. Besides, she has postgraduate degree in Corporate Law from IBMEC and Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Fundação Getúlio Vargas.  

João Paulo Santarosa de Araújo Ayres is regarded as a skilled and assertive lawyer in Tax Litigation and Consulting with experience in demands for food and beverage, agribusiness, automotive, construction and engineering, pharmaceutical, transportation, mining, steel and timber sectors. He joined the firm in 2019 as a senior associate. He has more than ten years of experience with several experience in State, Municipal, and Federal Administrative Proceedings Judicial and Direct contact and appearances before the Superior Courts in Brazil.  ?

He holds a Bachelor of Laws from the Law School of Faculdade Milton Campos and Accounting from the same institution. Besides, he has postgraduate degree in Corporate Law from Faculdade Milton Campos and a postgraduate degree in Tax Law from IBET.
