In early August, the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) launched a booklet with relevant information for the adequacy of the productive sector to the LGPD, entitled “LGPD: what your company needs to know”. The document highlights the need for the creation of the Brazilian National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) to ensure an adequate environment for the information flow and provides an overview of guidelines on the topic of personal data protection in the industrial sector in Brazil.
According to the President of the CNI, the need for a law on personal data is included in the set of most urgent issues and with the greatest impact on the business environment in the country, notably for the development of the Industry 4.0. Furthermore, it highlights that the processing of personal data is a fundamental pillar for decision-making, in a scenario in which the “huge amount of available information allows all the productive stages to be connected, from the conception of the products to the organization of the production lines”.
