On October 26, the National Agency of Telecommunications – ANATEL will hold a public hearing for discussion of a bill regarding the new Regulations on Infrastructure Sharing to Support the Provision of Telecommunications Services, and the revocation of Resolution No. 274/2001.
The Regulations – which are the subject matter of ANATEL Public Consultation No. 26/2016 – aim at ruling infrastructure sharing to encourage the optimization of resources and reduction in operating costs.
Among the changes, the new Regulations will provide for the mandatory sharing of towers by telecom operators that use transmitting stations of radio communication, as required by article 10, Law No. 11,934/2009 – on the limits of human exposure to electric, magnetic and electromagnetic fields – and the guidelines established by Law No. 13,116/2015, known as the Antennae Act.
The public hearing will be held at Anatel headquarters in Brasilia starting at 9:30 a.m. (Brasília time): Setor de Autarquias Sul, Quadra 6, Bloco E, 2nd Floor Auditorium. Starting at 9:30 a.m. (Brasília time)
In turn, the Public Consultation will take place by November 4, 2016. Duly identified and substantiated contributions and suggestions may be filed through the electronic form that is made available at Anatel’s Interactive System of Public Consultation (SACP), and will be complemented with alternative texts and replacements, if necessary. Contributions/suggestions forwarded by letter, fax or electronic mail will also be considered, as follows:
