Brazilian government initiates public consultations on trade negotiations between Mercosur, India and the United Arab Emirates.

Public consultations regarding the negotiation of two trade agreements were initiated by Ordinances No. 43 and No. 44, dated of October 18, 2023, as published by the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (SECEX): the potential expansion of the Preferential Trade Agreement between Mercosur and the Republic of India, and; trade negotiations between Mercosur and the United Arab Emirates.

The deadline for submitting statements about the negotiations is of sixty days from October 19, 2023. Participating in public consultations offers the opportunity to express opinions about the negotiations on topics such as (i) access to foreign markets for export; (ii) tariff relief for Brazilian imports, and; (iii) exclusion of products from the Brazilian offer to protect the local production.
