Chicago-headquartered software company Thoughtworks has enlisted Brazilian firm TozziniFreire Advogados to acquire local design company Handmade Assessoria Digital.
Azevedo Sette Advogados advised the target company.
The transaction closed on 28 June. No value was disclosed.
The deal, which made Thoughtworks the sole owner of the start-up business, marks the buyers first acquisition in Brazil.
Launched in 2015, Handmade offers design services for the creation of labels, products and market-fit studies. It employs 55 people, based primarily in São Paulo. The company intends to grow its local footprint following the investment from Thoughtworks.
Thoughtworks operates across 17 countries, including Brazil, Chile and Ecuador in Latin America.
