Deadline for submission of the annual census statement of foreign Capital in Brazil is August 15, 2019 (reference date of December 31, 2018)


Who should deliver the statement?

• Corporate entities based in Brazil, with nonresidents directly holding an equity interest in its share capital, in any amount, and, cumulatively, with a net equity equal to or above US$100 million on December 31, 2018;

• Investment Funds with nonresidents members and a net equity equal to or above US$100 million on December 31, 2018; and 

• Corporate entities based in Brazil with a total balance of short-term commercial loans (due within a maximum of 360 days) granted by nonresidents, in the amount of US$10 million or more, on December 31, 2018.

Who is dismissed?

• Natural persons; 

• Agencies of the federal government in any sphere of the federation; 

• Corporate entities debtors of external on-lending credits granted by institutions based in Brazil; and 

• Nonprofit business held by nonresidents.

When is the deadline?

• The Statement shall be submitted before or by 6:00 p.m. of August 15, 2018.
